Correct use of the "Go-no-go" feeler gauge

Doing the valve adjust on my 81' 240D and have the go-no-go feelers..

going to adjustwhen cold cold..
Is the correct procedure to adjust it to where it is tight in bewteen the 0.003 and 0.005 for intake like 0.004
0.013 and 0.0015 and 0.014 for exhuast?

According to the factory manual, the cold engine clearances are 0.10mm (or approximately .004") for the intake and 0.30mm (or approximately .012") for the exhaust valves and the manual states in BOLD text: "Valve clearance is correctly adjusted if feeler gauge can be pulled through with some resistance"

Hope this helps.
