Hello everyone,

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I didn't find anything with the search button. I was wondering if a transmission from a non-turbo 300TD can be installed in a turbo 300TD. I'm looking to buy a non-turbo parts car with a friend and his turbo 300TD could use a replacement tranny.

If it does fit, is there anything special that needs to be done to complete the swap?

It doesn't have the required internal reinforcements to not self destruct under the higher loads of the Turbo engines....

It will physically fit... but it will have a short lifespan. Thats why this swap is not recomended.
