Astroman thanks / K1 spring kit
Did the diff swap to the 2.88 and the trani got better but still had the 2-3 flare now and then. Dropped the trani pan and did a filter re & re then in went the K1 kit, all of five minutes, real easy. Now The trani is finally #1.
How long has this kit been available and why did it take this long for MB to admit a screw up on these springs? Thanks for the info Astroman. John |

I just did the same job in a '83 300D. It was kind of funny - I purchased the kit from the dealer and gave them the part number. When I went to pick the kit up I asked the parts lady to pull the computer screen up showing the part and when she punched in the number it came back as invalid. The kit part number did not show up anywhere in their system.
