93 300D 2.5L Fuel leak
I changed the 2 fuel lines at the driver side of the IP and, off I went to wash my engine bay. I plan to replace the third and last plastic line when I remove the crossover pipe for cleaning.
Later that evening, I noticed a small puddle of diesel fuel under the car ( I had removed the under lining to replace the mounts and oil change; will fix them back on once I am done with all the repairs). I traced the puddle to the first injector on the IP. It does not seem to be a loose injector line, or am I wrong ?. The leak, a small one, seems to be coming from the base of the nut that has many teeth, that seem to screw on to the IP. On top of this nut is the injector line. How do I fix this leak ? Is there a crush washer between the nut and the IP ? Ur input will be helpful. |

Fuel leaking from the base of the splined nuts are from leaky delivery valve seals. You may as well replace the washers and rubber O-rings on all delivery valves. The parts are cheap, but you'll need the special socket to unscrew the splined nuts.
