Arrow What other Axial shafts Can I Use in my 1983 300TD?

Hey everyone. My pass side axial shaft in my 1983 300TD is making a lot of noise and needs to be replaced. What other models used this same shaft?
I am sure any 123 style will work but was told I could use a 70's 280 axial as well. My buddy has a 1974 280 and a 1973 280c parts cars. But cant find a 123 parts car anywhere near me. Hoping that there is a few models that have same shaft. Anyone know what will work for me?
Thanks.
Jay

click on the buy parts link, and call Roy or Phil, and ask them. I doubt they are the same, but it's possible.
I KNOW 126 axles will not work.
any 123 axles WILL work.

Was going to call the boys tomorrow. I did do a search for axial shafts for a 1974 280 on the parts section. I got the same part number as my 83 TD.
there was a note there saying

" Homokinetic joint refers to an inner C.V. joint that has an output shaft as part of the original design. Later design versions incorporate a seperate annular (or flat) inner C.V. joint with an output shaft that is bolted to it. Most models up to model year 1980 use the homokinetic style joint. 1981 and on models may have a mix of both versions. This is most prevalent in early production models in 1981.;New;"

Guessing either would work. Thanks for the replay.
Jay
