Anyone here move to Orlando from Texas?

Just got in from checking the mail at my apartment complex, and I see a tan 240D 4 speed and a creme/light yellow 300SD. Both cars look to be in good shape and they both have Texas plates on them. Just wondering if maybe they are members/lurkers on this fourm - if so, welcome to Orlando, neighbor!

Leave a note on the cars and invite them here.

Maybe we need to make some cards for the diesel forum and leave them on the windshields of diesel Mercedes-Benzes that we see parked around to invite them here. Although, some peeps don't like it when they find things on their windsheilds, they just throw them away, or if they catch you in the act, well... some people just can't keep their cool.

Yeah, I hear that. I was looking inside to check milage and the conditon... it's a 4 speed, 172K on the clock - looks like a nice car. I was just waiting for someone to yell "Hey! Get away from my car!!"

Yeah..... That is somewhat understandable.... Flyers and cards on your windshield is pretty much the parking lot equivalent of junk mail. Some people just get a little TOO upset about it.

I suppose the safest way to advertise is put a MercedesShop.com sticker on your own car, not like a bumper sticker, but maybe one of the clear college like stickers... I would not mind that on my car....

andersbenz just moved to Orlando and, IIRC, has an SD and 240 like that. If it's him, then it's a damned small world.

Hmmm... well I just looked at his user profile.. his sig says he also has a Subaru Legacy and a newer C-class. I am yet to see a C-class.. and haven't really looked too hard for a subaru legacy. Guess we'll just have to wait and see!

They DO have MBshop clear window cling stickers. Send Webmaster (Bill Wood) an email and he may send you one or two.

Take a pic of that 240 and I'll tell you if it is his.

Ok... it's dark now... almost 11.... don't think a pic would turn out too well with the flash and all..hopefully it'll be there tomorrow so I can snap a pic... I get home from class at around noon, so if it is out there I'll get a pic.

I've never seen Lars' 300SD but his 240 is sort of a milkshake brown; a very nice pre-80's, W123 specimen.

Yeah... sounds like it.. it wasn't a tan... like a dark tan... milkshake brown sounds good to me... has the color-matched hubcaps? The front two seats have seat covers on them.... his sig says his 240D has 168K.... today this car had 172K... Austin, TX is around 1200 miles away I would guess... seems to add up... I didn't look inside of the SD... maybe I'll catch a glimpse tomorrow.
