Does it matter which trans kit I buy?
 

I'm going to rebuild my 722.303 trans in my 82 300SD shortly. I want the parts to be of good quality of course, but I really want to use more "updated" parts - better B2 piston design, brake band that will minimize tendency for that sharp 1-2 shift, etc. Is the rebuild kit from MB necessarily the way to go, or are there aftermarket kits just as good?

See if you can get Doktor Bert to reply, he has posted some excellent advice on Automatic Transmissions. You may want to run some searches with his name also.
