Hold the pedal to the floor and crank for 30 seconds at a time. I think the manual says to crank for a minute at a time.

prime with mity vac

My hand primer had no resistance, and thinking i might have a bad lift pump (the part that the hand primer is on), I scored one from a 77 300D at the boneyard-same problem. I rented a Mity Vac @ Autozone for $50, plugged the needle valve that came with it into the clear hose that runs from fuel filter housing to the back of the IP, and pumped. Man, did that thing pull-first the air in the system and then fuel through! I still had to crack all the injectors, have my son crank the engine, and tighten injectors, but that was the only thing that would start a prime. Now my hand primer works like it should. Give this a try-good luck!
