did you fill the spin on filter with fuel before installing it? Did you bleed the air out using the hand pump?

Hi, you need to use the hand pump to prime it, or you will never get started. I usually leave the main filter a little loose and prime with the hand pump untill I see fuel leaking out around the top and/or bolt hole. Then I tighten the filter and give it a few more pumps. It then starts with a couple of seconds of cranking. That should do it unless you have something else going on.

seango,
No need to keep the main filter loose when bleeding it. There is a hole in the top of the main filter that will bleed all the air out. When you hear the release valve in the IP passing fuel while pumping the primer pump, the system is bled and the engine is ready to start. P E H |

Since were on the topic:
This may seem obvious to some, but you need to prime it with the hand pump when you run out of diesel/fuel. Sometimes we dont think so well when were on the side of the road with a car that wont start. The same goes for changing the filters. The handle on the pump needs to be loosened by hand before you can pump it. It is loosened by turning it like a knob. |
