Today I saw a BMW Isetta ... just made me think of that. It was one of the few highlights of a car show I went to that consisted mostly of modded out ricers and 500 muscle cars.

Go go VW power
 What engine you got in that? My dual port slightly agressive cammed 1600 just smoked my friends not-so-new 1775cc dual port. Guess he needs to adjust his valves Was riding around in my friends Type III squareback and we put a mild cam in it. I haven't got the idle quite right yet on the dual carbs (stock) so it really sounds fat at idle (tad rich for those of you who don't understand running fat). Some kids at Cannon Beach yelled out "that is SICK! (means sweet)" "rock on!" I smiled and waved... Amazing what a fresh rebuild, a good quietpack and a thumpy idle can do to impress.

The chassis is a '67 but I pulled a motor from a '71. It is all new top and bottom with the large slip in 88mm jugs. Comes out to like 1641cc. The thing only weighs like 1400lbs so it gets off the line REALLY quick. Still trying to sort out some starting issues as well as idle.
