Warning! Fraudulent eBay seller!

http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZwrenchboy0

Was formally spusedcars who sold several junk Mercedes diesels on eBay that were listed as perfect condition. I know this because I got my car through him and was contacted buy many other buyers about him and his practices. I have reported this to eBay but they are near worthless when it comes to protecting buyers.

I guess I will have to wait and see.

this one in particular looks like an Earl Shieb paint job...look at the rear photo...it looks like it was resprayed a different shade with the liscense plate still attached.

what i want to know is why are his diesels *all* unlike *all* other diesels?

they all look like normal cars, none of them stands out as a pristine, different than every other diesel merc on the road machine!

i will say that the blue interior looks fine, except the wood trim all looks like ass. the blue must age better than the rest, it seems the dashes all look like crap, but blue seats age WAY better than that ugly puke beige that *every* w123 has

i just want to know how far he thinks hes getting with the "it doesnt smoke like all other diesels(except the others im selling) i dont know why, but it doesnt" line.

for all we know they could be decent cars, i dont think hes presenting them TERRIBLY wrong, but knowing the cars a little better than your average yuppie looking for a biodiesel toy might help here, iunno.

i know i only showed my car to one person and i pointed out every flaw. i wasnt trying to scare the guy off, i was trying(i think) to help him be a more responsible buyer. he didnt buy it, and i am glad for it, i think id be sad if i had actually sold it, its way too fabulous to part with for the chump change i can expect to get for it!

dont fault him for selling cars, it *is* the buyers responsibility to be in the know about the things theyre purchasing. he's only trying to make money, yall.

i cannot use ebay, i sold a computer and sent it out late(2 weeks) the guy got the computer and a full refund. i cant do anything about it and my bank is 150 bux in the hole because of it.

before you start jumping the gun and blaming problem sellers for all problems, you might consider problem buyers. ever wonder if these people expect a perfect car for 3 grand? buyers remoarse is a terrible thing. the first time a ****ty 20 year old car you JUST paid a couple paychecks for breaks down, youre going to blame the seller, not yourself.

I've seen that before.... its actually just grime/soot/dirt from under the plate that never got washed off for years.

That car was sold at euro in bethesda, still has our badge on it.

I can totally fault this seller as he deliberately misrepresents his vehicles. Just about every thing he says is the opposite. Mine was listed as shifts smooth, fewer than 100K miles, doesn’t leak, good breaks, no rust, etc.

It turned out every think he made an effort to point out was a total lie. The whole vacuum system was shot and the kick down switch was toast, so right a way it cost me $1000.00 and 1 month of waiting for it to arrive through a car transporter. The breaks had been run down to the rotors, the engine had so many leaks I was going through a quart a week and I had to spend one week of vacation time wrenching 8 hours a day to fix them all. Not to mention many other cases of deliberate half-assing to make the car appear in better condition.

Over all I am happy with the car now that all of the major repairs have been done, and expected to put a few thousand dollars into it to bring it up to par. However it is never a good feeling knowing you were deliberately defrauded along with the full time job of regaining some of your losses through ebaymotors fraud insurance.

a valid point.

i do not wish to stir waves, i only read the initial post(and you only mentioned being contacted by others, nothing about the car being terrible!)

and about the junk comment-- i call my shlomo junky all the time, i think of it as a term of endearment

i am sorry you had to deal with a problem seller, but as it stands, all goods purchased through ebay seem to be junk. it seems that one mans junk isnt another mans treasure if its purchased through ebay, it really is ALL junk.

How true it is. How successful would ebay.com be if it was called usedcrap.com ?

I got my car from him when he was spusedcars

Heres what he told me...

"I have connections with MBZ dealers, whenever someone trades their old benz in on a new one the dealer wants that old benz off their lot ASAP. I buy them and sell them on ebay" I don't know if its true or not.

I do not think he misrepresented my car, he takes a ton of pics and discloses most of what he should disclose. Buyer beware.

Please people... this man is A USED CAR SALESMAN! Whudya expect??? complete honesty?? even your mom wasn't being completely honest when she said "you look handsome honey"

Example: in his advert he stated the a/c was not functioning, when I looked at the car I asked about it and he said "it might just need the belt replaced" I laughed in his face and said the absolute minimum to fix this would be $500 and more likely it would be $1000 and he smiled but didn't say anything more.

He knows benzos, when I was there a TD stationwagon was being delivered on a flatbed truck, he got all excited and said "that one has the third seat"

Personally I would NEVER bid on an ebay car unless I personally kicked the tires, I don't know why anyone would.

Before the Ebay auction was over I test drove the car, crawled under it, nitpicked him to death, lowballed him and he accepted.

BTW hes NOT in College park, he is in Laurel, off rt 1.

I second that. Not ALL things bought through Ebay are ALL junk. I have purchased things on Ebay that were quite useful and NOT junk. Many things are junk and often overbidded by zealous trigger happy buyers, but there are a good number that are still worth the price. I know many out there have had bad experiences (including me!) but always remember this single rule before bidding on Ebay: "Caveat Emptor" (aka Buyer Beware)... in other words - do your homework, ask plenty of good questions to the seller, see the car personally before bidding (or have someone examine it for you), always thoroughly read/look/verify before bidding to win, and know your limit... and hopefully all your hard work will minimize the risks.

I don't see a smiley there. Are you serious? If you are, man, that's a whopping generalization.

OK, let's take as a given that everything that you have bought on eBay has been worthless. Do you you seriously think that it makes sense to draw the general conclusion that everything sold on eBay is junk? Sorry, but that just isn't sound reasoning.

It might be perfectly reasonable to reach the conclusion that, based on your experience, you should not buy things on eBay - unless you're willing to learn how to do it in a way that will satisfy you.

In contrast, based on my experience, I should continue to buy things on eBay. So should lots of other people who do so to their satisfaction.

Pardon my ignorance, John what the badge stands or represents?
Thanks
