I'll let someone more creative put the proper descriptions for the above. If I did it, I'd probably be banned.
Brian--I'll stick my neck out and run the risk. I see seven $HITBOXES! The one I hate the most is the Ford Expedition.

I wouldn't want to see any quality products like Land Rovers on that list--I have seen people crawling through windows and attacking the doors of Range Rovers with screwdrivers (myself included)--no, they're not trying to steal the vehicles, its just that the Range Rover's security system is making sure nobody gets in, including the owner.

Or the VW Eurovan, which requires approximately 18 hours of labor to change the spark plugs.

(All these vehicles fall into the FUV catagory)

Ford Explorer: "I'm way too cool to be driving a mini-van!"
Ford Expedition: "I'm a self-important jackass"
Ford Excursion: "What other people? You mean I'm not the only person on the planet?"

GMC Yukon: (see Explorer)
Chevrolet Tahoe: (see Expedition)
Chevrolet Suburban: (see Excursion)

Dodge Durango: "I wish I looked like I was on steroids! Except I'm too damn lazy to lift weights... so I'll drive an FUV that looks like it's on steroids!"

Aztek - I watch Tony Little infomercials and buy whatever is thrust in front of me because I don't have any sense of taste.

No doubt about it.

The Expedition and the Durango are at the top of my personal list. This has nothing specific to do with the vehicle itself............but the type of driver who is behind the wheel. Prejudicial opinion..........absolutely...........but it was formed by years of observation.

I don't think I have ever seen an Expedition travelling at 70 mph or less on the highway, unless it's stuck in traffic.................then it's climbing the bumper of the vehicle directly ahead to force them to close the 30 foot gap.

I've never owned one but I think suburbans can be pretty darn useful. Just not the sort of thing that should be a daily driver. I may end up helping resurect a local diesel one around here to serve as a veggie oil retrieval vehicle for a group of people with similar interests.

I like Jeff Pierces definition of the Expedition owner--I'm a self important jack-ass. There is one Expedition and it's owner that I would take great pleasure in driving over with a fully equipped D-11 Caterpillar. Once on top of him I would lock my track and grind them into the dust from whence they came.

Sounds like a friend of mine - you not the expedition driver....He had the opportunity to run a rock crusher once. He named each rock as he dropped it into the crusher.....That's gotta be some good stress relief....

I SINCERELY hope that all of this is meant in humor. If not, there sure are some prejudicial snobs on this board.

This is all fun to read and joke about, but making generalizations about someone that you have never met based on the make and model car they drive is much akin to judging a book by its cover, or a person by their ethnic background or color of their skin.

What you CAN determine about a person by looking at their car is indicated not by the make and model, but by the condition and level of neatness and cleaniliness.

Now, all that said, if all this has been in the spirit of humor, then carry on. I got a few giggles from the list too.

Have a great day,

Peugeot 505 diesel! I resemble that remark. At least I'm on somebodys list.

Actually, the model I had barely had a scent of diesel exhaust until it showed signs of wear (at almost 200,000 miles) and the only smoke was a small puff at startup. The 505 diesel originally was a 2.3 liter (XD2) with a French fuel pump. But mine had a 2.5 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder diesel (XD3T) that was introduced mid model year so the engine was designed by itself, not sharing efforts with the whole car. It was only imported for one year though so there aren't many around, so I guess most have the old smoky French fuel pump powered 2.3 liters. The 2.5 liter had a German Bosch IP which I think was its secret, best thing the French did was use German parts.
