The Beast That Roared!

1984 BMW D-50-2 45HP Diesel.
Dowsed 10 Hrs in Fresh Water...sunken boat raised. Oil Drained, Fresh Oil replaced. Pulled injectors and had them cleaned and tested, all ok. Blew out cylinders by cranking with newly rebuilt starter motor. Emptied fuel tank, dried and cleaned. Reinstalled Injectors, Fuel tank partially filled with 2.5 gallons of $3.20 Diesel, hand pumped to find leaks, fixed leak in one intake line at its injector, cleaned Raw water input filter and purged the intake line with clean water, Noted that the stop button doesn't "click"...so what...does she start? Crank once for three seconds, nothing, hand pumped again 20 strokes, cranked again 3 seconds...nothing...hand pumped again 20 got hard that time...then eased off (???) Hmmmm...cranked....Pow! Bang! Kawhoomp! kawhoomp, kawhoomp! pop, pop, pop, brrrrrrrr....faster, faster, faster...shut off switch! Still running away!!!! Uh Oh! ROAR!!!!!! ROARRRR !!!!! then brrrrrrrrr..r.r.r.r.rr..r.r she stopped. I ran like a frightened rabbit at the roaring beemer to the potty up front and waited til she stopped! Scared the heck outa me. COOL though!!!!!! Found intake line leaking like a seive...tightened then said...here goes nothing...and stopped before I tried starting her again.
What now dear audience? Should I or shouldn't I and why did she run away like that? Scary for a guy with two previous heart attacks!

Take a LOOK at this one...http://www.bath.ac.uk/~ccsshb/12cyl/

Kind of like the show "Top Gear." They got an old 90 Toyota 2.5L TD. Beat the crap out of it, wacked it with a demo ball, sank it in saltwater overnight, SET IT ON FIRE and it STILL ran!
