I have a 617 turbo engine i am rebuilding and i was wondering which turbo i should use i have a kkk and a garett , it has an auto right now but i do have a 4 speed id like to put in it and i was wondering which turbo would be the best for the job thanks for the info ps it has an 2.88 rear end

For me, I'm hell bent on the KKK turbo over the Garrett. There is nothing at all wrong with the garrett design. It just feels like the KKK I've gets to full boost faster.

Do a search, there is lots of info in many threads. (Search for KKK, 3-K, 3K, K03, and K26)

The KKK turbo is much easier to adjust with its external wastegate allen screw. Are you adding the turbo to a non-turbo engine? You will need a gauge that reads in bar pressure, factory specs were around .8 bar boost, running in third gear about 3,000 rpm.

i am rebuilding the motor for my car i have a 300d 82 , that on my trip out to see a friend in chicago broke the crankshaft but to its credit it kept on going till i figured out y it was leaking oil at his house then i just didnt want to start it again it started leaking oil in ohio so i think it broke there . and i was wondering which turbo was better cuz i have both because i am rebuild a motor that had kkk off and 85 and my motor has the garret . and does anyone know if there are any rebuild kits for the turbos just wondering thanks
