How often should I drive my 93 300D
I recently bought a very nice 93 300D. I have 4 cars already..from an Aston Martin to Honda Oddesey, Toyota Tundra, Mercede and a Mooney airplane. The Mercedes is diesel, obviously and would like advice from the pros as to how often I need to let her stretch her legs. I certainly need information so I dont do harm to the car. I hear about algae, and a myriad of other problems with a diesel..Hell I had to buy it since it was in immaculate shape and was only $3500. Thanks so much and I really enjoy reading the articles you pros write

Because of %@#!%@#$ fuel prices, I mostly drive my TDI, and launch the MB on weekends. In short: once a week.

Whatever frequency you decide, make sure you take it on a long trip. Keep the revs up. Climb hills if you can.
I drive my SDL to/from work 9 miles each way on surface streets. That's not enough time for the engine and transmission fluid to get to operating temperature on cold days. Every few weeks I look for a reason to open her up. I'll follow you in the Aston Martin just in case Sixto 95 S420 87 300SDL |

Yeah really your mercedes shold be fired and broguth up to temp once a week. Mine is my dayily driver so i drive mine every day and i really have not had her sit for a long time. And if you have fuel sitting for too long and water gets in the tank it can make algae form. There so you have it enjoy ur mercedes man

Hi Iceman
Is your Mooney an amphibous plane? A fnd has one. What model is your AM? I was always intrigued by them, especially the old David Brown. Just yesterday they talked about on Forbes auto. The James Bond's Gold finger really brought it out to the public. Is good to drive the dsl as often as U can. Just switch the cars around. |
