speedometer repair
I did the speedometer repair on my 83 mercedes benz. The odometer registers ok now, and that was the problem. The problem now it seems is the registers are out of sync a small amount. Some of the number are up a little and some are down a little. They don't align nice and straight across. Does anyone have a possible solution for this. Thanks

Hey,
I believe you should have aligned the numbers when you had it taken apart for repairs. What kind of speedo do you have, cable or electric? Did you follow any specific instructions for the repair? If so can you provide a link? Also, go to the USER CP and put your vehicle year, make, model and mileage in your profile. Danny

I repaired the speedo on my slc and had a hell of a time getting the numbers in sync. You either need 2 sets of hands to hold the numbers as you rethread the little bar along the back that holds the trip mechanism or you can use small wedges of bits of wax to hold the numbers in place. It is a real challenge.

speedometer repair
They don't seem to be that far off, but what I am wondering how tight does that round keeper have to be on the end of the shaft. I left it sort of loose, because it was mentioned not to get it too tight. The numbers don't seem like there out a cog or anything that severe.
