1982 300sd engine mounts
Hello all,
I'm new to the shop, I'm having trouble with clearance between my oil filter housing and i believe a bracket that guides the rear brake lines. I was wondering if there is supposed to be a spacer or some type of shim between the mount and the heat shield. It seems that if the engine sat higher that this clearance would not be an issue. I apperciate any help you can offer. Thanks! |

are you
sure the mounts are not shot? the top of the mount should be a cone going up some.

It very well could be. I'm going to see if local auto part store has some in stock and see if I can measure how tall they stand. And I was wrong about what it was close to, the oil filter housing was really close to the steering knuckle. thanks for your post.
