Torgue specs for differential plug and tranny plugs ?

1985 190D 5-speed

Does anybody know the torque specs for the drain/fill plugs on the differential and manual transmission ?

My brother is a VW tech so he will take it to work to change the fluids into synthetics but I want to give him the specifications so he does it right.

Thanks

Hi Kamil,

My 123 manual gives 44 ft-lbs for the manual tranny drain and fill plugs, no info for the differential plugs. I assume yours would be similar?

The tranny's working well now. I replaced the vacuum line (that I broke) and adjusted the throttle linkage a little to make sure it gets full throttle. My mechanic adjusted the mixture and the linkage a little more and drove it. He thought the tranny was shifting just about right, so I've left it alone. Maybe it just needed to be driven a little.

I was able to fix the power antenna and the drivers door switch relay last weekend. I got an alignment and that made quite a difference. Now it's back with the mechanic to have the AC diagnosed. I wanted to make sure we find any leaks before putting R12 in. I'll find out what's going on with the AC tomorrow. I also plan on having the little nicks and chips on the body cleaned up. I have an estimate from the body shop, but I still need to make an appointment. That's about it, then it will pretty much be a new car. My wife bought a cover for it to keep the sun off it at work, now she is shopping for sheepskin seat covers, OEM floor mats, etc.

Nice...I'm glad that you are taking care of these cars.
