Torgue specs for differential plug and tranny plugs ?
1985 190D 5-speed
Does anybody know the torque specs for the drain/fill plugs on the differential and manual transmission ? My brother is a VW tech so he will take it to work to change the fluids into synthetics but I want to give him the specifications so he does it right. Thanks

Hi Kamil,
My 123 manual gives 44 ft-lbs for the manual tranny drain and fill plugs, no info for the differential plugs. I assume yours would be similar? Craig |

I was able to fix the power antenna and the drivers door switch relay last weekend. I got an alignment and that made quite a difference. Now it's back with the mechanic to have the AC diagnosed. I wanted to make sure we find any leaks before putting R12 in. I'll find out what's going on with the AC tomorrow. I also plan on having the little nicks and chips on the body cleaned up. I have an estimate from the body shop, but I still need to make an appointment. That's about it, then it will pretty much be a new car. My wife bought a cover for it to keep the sun off it at work, now she is shopping for sheepskin seat covers, OEM floor mats, etc. |
