A man stopped my wife the other day as she was driving her 300d and asked her if she wanted another one. I looked at it today. It's an 85 300DT. Silver with blue interior. 263k miles. Both rear passenger windows are broken. The driver's window is off the track. Interior is dirty and if I were to guess, all the previous owners have been strict devotees of Greg's 'whatever-you-do-dont-wash-the-engine' cult. It had no plates so I only drove it on a side street for about a quarter mile. It started fine, ran fine and shifted well. If my daughter was a few years older, I'd have bought it for her to drive. I guess the story has that kind of ring. My wife was dropping off my daughter at a school and the father of the owner is a school employee. They had the registration but had lost the title. The father said he was going to DMV to get the title this afternoon. It's a cheap set of driveable wheels or a good source of lots of parts.
