Help 220d turn signals

Well, I have exhausted my resources and can't find the problem.

Here it is: There really is no rhyme or reason of when they work, and when they don't. Sometimes they work, and then others they do not. Fuse is changed, doesn't fix the problem, pulled out gauges and changed the bulbs, and loosened and reconnected all wires and still nothing. I most recently purchased a complete switch and plugged it into the harness..still same thing, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Are the bulbs the type with 'chrome plated' base or the cheaper brass style? Sometimes the brass ones suffer from corrosion and contact problems. Same can be said for the socket if brass bulbs have been used. Ground wires can also sometimes be the culprit, both in the switch area and at the bulb areas. Do they ever work, but very slowly or way too fast? That is a symptom of one bulb out on that side.

I think the turn signal and 4 way flasher share the same relay... try unpluging, cleaning and replugging the 4 way flasher switch where the relay is housed. Also try hosing the 4 way flasher innards with WD-40.

When they work, they work perfectly, but like I said there is just sometimes that they just don't work.

I will try the flasher, where is it located...is it under the dash? Does it look like any old other flasher? Small silver object.?

Thanks
