Talking it..........Is...............ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woohoo!

Pushed her out of the garage, threw in some oil and coolant,

pumped the primer pump a few times....Vroom....

I was preapared for a total runaway, meltdown, fire department response.....No need....the car can now be shut off with the key! Among many other things I replaced a leaking stop valve.....My arm is a little sore from patting myself on the back but Now I can turn my efforts to further vac. trouble shooting and so on.....

Yup..Long slow process for me. 15 minutes here fifteen minutes there....Next up is sorting and smoothing the vac. At idle the vac gauge bounces all over the place....from there..well 1 step at a time i guess...

I know exactly what you mean. In my case, it's two hours here and two hours there. Lot of little details when the head comes off and you decide to do starter, oil filter housing gasket, oil cooler hoses, water pump, belts, and wastegate adjustment.

Congrats, I know you must feel good! It's funny though, no matter what comes up, if anything; I get excited to try to fix it. I end up loving the car more if I put the work in it.

Definately rings true for me. The "fixability" of this type of Mercedes was a strong factor in my deciding to pursue owning one....
