Does my W126 have a banjo bolt?

After reading the numerous threads on the banjo bolt I decided it would be a good idea to clean mine. I have the pictures and instructions for other vehicles but I just can't seem to locate it on my car. Am I looking for something that doesn't exist on an '87 300sdl?

Anyone want to trade an old Volvo for an '87 300sdl?

Hopefully you aren't just Stringing us along

Er.....What Banjo Bolt are you referring to?
Only heard of those bolts in reference to Fuel Line Fittings like we have on top of our Fuel Filters etc.

I presume you are speaking of the ALDA boost sensor banjo bolt?

If so, yes your car has one. I cannot help you with the location though.

ALDA is located underneath the intake manifold, below the #4 runner.

Follow the "vacuum" line (actually pressure) from the alda to the overboost sensor then to the intake manifold. There, at the manifold, will be a bolt holding the banjo bolt on remove it and you will see that they have special holes to port pressure from the intake manifold to the alda for fuel enrichment. Ensure the holes and the tubing are clear of carbon and oil.

I followed the line from the ALDA and found a nipple on the intake manifold but no banjo bolt. I unscrewed the nipple and found that it had alot of deposits on the inner diameter so I cleaned it out. I don't see any other vaccum lines connected to the manifold anywhere so I guess that was it. Thanks for the help!

Either they made a change on your series of vehicles or someone did a "homemade" fix. As long as it ports air to the boost protection and alda, it should be the one.

A banjo bolt is a bolt which allows fluid to flow thru the bolt and at the same time fasten the fluid's line to another conductor or container. You may have several banjo bolts and they usually need no cleaning or other care.
