Diesel purged and now it is "dieseling"

I ran two cans of diesel purge through my injectors and the car ran like a dream while it was running on the purge. Now I'm running it off the tank again and when I turn the key off the car runs on for a few seconds. Before I purged the engine would cutoff much quicker. I'm hoping I don't have a leak in the turbo somewhere. Any ideas? Maybe the purge just made an existing problem more obvious? Could bad injector seals cause this?

Anyone want to trade an old Volvo for an '87 300sdl?

You might want to watch your vacuum pump-weak vacuum will allow the engine to run on like this.

Check your vacuum hoses going into the IP. Perhaps you yanked a hose while doing the procedure.

You have a vacuum shut off problem.

Never a lack of excellent advice on here. I'll check it out when I get home and given the track record of this site it will be fixed in no time. Thanks again for the help.

That's my bet. I did the same thing when I purged my SDL.

I think a line was loose, it's shutting off faster now. However I noticed that when I manually push the lever on the IP down the engine cuts out instantly. Is there a way I can make the car shutoff instantly on it's own? Is there something I need to clean or a diaphram that needs replacing? I can live with it the way it is but perfection is always appreciated.

So I installed the original vaccum line to the IP and it's working perfectly now. I had replaced it with a new vaccum line that appeared to be identical with the exception of length, I cut it about 3 inches longer. Could that really make a difference? Maybe the ID was slightly larger and it wasn't sealing properly.

These things are very sensitive to vacuum leaks, maybe your replacement tube was just a tad larger than the original. I doesn't take much of a leak to create problems.

is the connecting line to the shutoff valve the same as injector return line?

well at least you did not have to hop out and pop the hood each time you wanted to shutoff. i know some people who had to do that for about a week before they got the problem fixed.
