Yeah, a real fast diesel Merc that can "eat the chain" even faster than the diesel engine......

17mpg sounds about right.
My 380SE euro gets 20-21mpg.

BTW, The new Jetta TDI got just over 40mpg on its very first tank of fuel. Its going to be interesting watching it when things loosen up a bit.

That black 300D looks totally bad-ass with the chubby tires and gold rims.

I'd buy it if I could afford the gas, if it was running, and if I felt assured that it wouldn't break down after 10k.
