Alright alright. I'm a spoiled child who has no clue what it's like to really have it bad. I'm sorry that I'm so self-centered and ignorant.

The photos were taken with a mid-70's vintage Canon AE-1 using Kodak TMax 400 black and white film.

I'm going to have to develop the film and then make some prints before I can show them on the forum.

Glinko--I have an idea that your Dad is a young Dad compared to my Dad. I'm 49 and he is 78. I wish I could make him your Dad's age.

My dad is 55! I'm going to be 18 in two weeks, but I'm about as mature as twelve year old.

Glinko, I'm only 29, but I gotta take the old-guy response here.

You forgot the camera, go easy on your dad. I'd say "at least you have one" but I do have a dad, and he's someone I still look up to. I wouldn't be a Benz fan without him, and probably not a college graduate, either.

Is 200k really worth all that trouble? I mean the odo sounds flacky at best so the car probably rolled over 200k a long time ago. Also a Yugo can go 200k, now 400k or 500k is something to get a pick of.

Go easy on your dad I would never even imagin bothering my dad with such a call. Come on put yourself in his shoes would you want to turn around? I wouldn't I'd tell you tough its just a car.

actually, the odo only started acting up about two months ago....so I *think* that it's missed about 2-3 thousand miles.

So, yes, the car has more than 200K, but the odo really isn't that far behind.

Your blunt honesty is a good start towards your manhood. Also you seem to have no fear of taking on mechanical projects. Your next step is to respect your father and let him know that you appreciate him.

My father knows I appreciate him.

Hey Glinko,

I am 41 years old. I have a 20 year old son, as well as younger kids. I never knew my father...I was raised by a single mom. nuff of that.

I put to you...you have made it perfectly clear to your father that this roll over is VERY important to you....yet...when he had a chance to help you with this...he basically told you to piss off. Why? To us, you call him names...and it may or may not be true...but it is true to you, which is all that matters. Does he know you feel this way about him? Is the feeling mutual? I am actually more on your side than your dads here...as I think family are the only people you can rely on. You needed your dad (albeit, he probably didnt consider it important) and he bailed on you...that sucks. Even if he had a gripe against you...he still should have taken the small amount of time and come through for you. As a dad...I know this job can be rather thankless at times...but if my kids need me for something that is important...even if only to them...I am there.

My 2 cents

PS I own a diesel, though not an MB...I LOVE diesel, and hope to have an diesel MB one day

He "bailed". Nice word, wrong context though, I would think.
Are you sure you're 41?

Glinko, by some of your sentences I can tell you are a smart enough kid. You seem to have a sense of humor also.
I think you'll get there......

You can't always rely on family, sometimes, they'll turn their back on you, I know stories of that happening to people.

My father got home and I told him I walked in the rain. His eyes bugged out, and he basically said that he had no idea that it was such a big deal to me.

I guess if he'd known that he would have spun around and given me a ride; but whatever, ess allll good. Not like walking is going to kill me....although the passing cars could have.

At least I have a nifty story to tell about my zealous attachment to the little Benz. If this car is ever totalled, I am seriously going to cry...

@Saint: Yes, he realized how angry I was after he got home. Like I said though, it's all done and over with, I let off some steam (here on the forum, not to my father's face ) and things are back to normal.
