Question Fuel Thermostat Replacement - need help

Hi You'll...

I'm back under the intake and have replaced the fuel thermostat. After I buttoned everything up, it is leaking coolant....

Does anyone know what the torque spec for the T-30 bolts that hold the Thermostat to the head? Also, I replaced the paper gasket... should I have used some waterproof paste prior to putting the gasket on? The heat exchanger part of the fuel thermostat sits right down into the coolant flowing through the head.

I also replaced glow plugs and blower motor. All but one glow plug came out easy. OVer the course of 2 days and a can of solvent, I eased it out.

Probably not sure why but your surfaces might not be flush. Mine was just put on without any torque wench. Just tightened.

According to WIS for my turbo 606, you should replace the bolts and tighten to 10 Nm.

This is for the heater that the fuel runs thru on the side of the engine, right?

Right, it feeds the fuel line to the pre-filter. Did you replace the gasket and if so, use any paster?

Why did you guys replace the fuel heater to begin with. Was it drawing air into the system?
