how many mounting points does the air cleaner can have? (84 300D)
 

My air cleaner can just seems to sit on top of the turbo. There is one mounting bolt on the front right side (I believe), and what looks like a stud on the back, but it doesn't mount to anything. THe air cleaner assembly seems to vibrate quite a bit, just curious if this is normal.

Also, how tight to the exhaust pipe should the clamp that comes off of the Transmission be? Mine is a bit loose, and rattles like hell. Thoughts?

There are two on the top and one down on the side down below the manifolds.
Don't know about the torque, but should be gootentite.;)

There should be three shock mounts for the air cleaner housing. The rear of the support bracket is prone to breaking. Sounds like you might need a new bracket.

Then you are probably missing the shock mounts, too.

You will need three each.

Get the heat shields for the rubber mounts too - they last linger that way.
