Broken Accelerator Pedal 1981 300SD

On the way back from work last week the plastic part that connects the pedal to the linkage snapped off.

Odd but it is a twenty-five year old car.

Easy fix. Thanks Fastlane for the quick service.

Love the SD but for some reason My 240D has about 10% of the problems for the same miles driven.

Have any of you other 126 chassis car drivers broken your accelerator pedal?

What a coincidence

That part just broke on my 85 300sd last night... I have tried searching for posts on how to fix this, where to get the part, what the part is called, etc. but can't seem to come up with anything.

Could you please lend a little advice on how to repair this, what the part is called, and where I can get it.

The 123 chassis is the most spartan - or should I say 'utilitarian?' - and therefore more reliable and not as problematic.
