Transmission Vacuum Shift Valve, 1982 300D

How hard is it to replace the Transmission Vacuum Shift Valve? Also, is the clip that connects it to the metal rod going to the engine reusable (i.e., will I have to replace it when I take it off?)? Thanks, Pete. |
Very easy, 2 allen screws hold it to the top of the IP. The plastic clip is re-useable as long as you don't break it so be careful. There is nothing else attached that you can't clearly see looking at it. Around a 5 minute job.

My vacuum control valve does not have a lock nut and there are not enough threads to add one ....also the unit does not have a cap over the adj nut ...does this matter
when I adj the vacuum so that the transmission no longer flairs it reverts back to a high volume after sitting over night resulting in flair where can i buy a new one or how can this one be repaired this link shows the unit http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w123-e-ce-d-cd-td/1261744-transmission-flaring-clunking-vcv-diy.html |
