Summertime veggie oil use
I want to start using veggie this summer. Is it a good idea to dump good quailty, filtered, dewatered used veggie oil right into the fuel tank, as long as the temperatures are good and warm? Summertime temp here in Boise reach the 100's. I would switch back to BD when the temps dropped. Is this a good idea or should I really do the two tank thing?

well last time i checked, right now its november so i think your summer plan is a tad off. otherwise, yes, you can dump into the main tank. some folks here do, i don't intentionally. the son when refueling became dislexic and added two cubies of wvo to his main tank thinking it was bio d. later mom and i ran over and dumped a bio d cubie into the 240 and he had no problems starting in the wis. summer. below 50deg you will get a much thicker fuel and polymerization of the oil and bad stuff in your oil.
cold wvo is thicker than diesel and it is suggested that you use wvo injectors for the car. tomj here used to have them, not sure if he still does. let us know how your summer plans workout. |

We're still getting 60F mornings around here and I am debating whether or not 2 cubes of new VO and 1 cube of B100 is safe to use.....or maybe it isn't? |
I started w/ 10/90 and went all the way to 100.

For the past week or so here we are dropping to about 40 at night and reaching 55 daytime. I roll out every morning at 7 am and fire the SD up no problems.
50% WVO/50% diesel |
