'80 300D. Where's the cruise?

I see the throttle actuator under the hood but I don't recall finding a control lever, switch, knob... in the car.

There should be a small lever, like a mini-turn signal stalk, on top of the steering column
..unless the Dreaded Previous Owner used it instead of the turn signals stalk - SNAP!

Up is set/accelerate, down is decelerate, forward is resume, back is off if I recall...

That make no sense at all...

Gramps would have to do that with his left hand, and I never saw a column-shift lever on the left side of the wheel in the USA

Dumb early morning pre-coffee post of mine. I should have figured the stalk was broken off.
Every MB I own/ever own had the same cruise control location.

Now, How do I replace the broken stalk?

There is more than just one cruise control system. As stated so many times, your car info is really necessary to properly answer questions. Folks are happy to do it, just need the appropriate info....

**BTW, Dan if you need the actuator assy my '77 parts car I believe has one intact.**

sorry I feel like and idiot! I thought the posting was for an '87 300D not an '80.

anyway here it is I have an '87 W124 300D, nothing at all happens when I use the control stalk for the CC. I have checked fuses and they are all ok. so if anyone has any suggestions as to where to start that would be great.

I have had good luck resoldering most everything on the cruise amp for the older units. You might give that a try.

Jimmy, I'll dig into this one and see if the rest of the cruise is ok. If so, I could use the one from your '77 if you still have it. Thanks.

Question Cruise question

I've just got to jump in to this thread with a question of my own. I have an 83 300d. It is in terrific condition inside, but I don't see any sign of a cruise control lever or any other sign that it has cruise. Did ALL 300D's have cruise? I have looked at the turn signal lever and at the steering column. I just don't see any evidence that mine has cruise control. What should I look for under the hood?

Look for a throttle actuator tied to the linkage.
