W126 windshield trim question

A close friend just inherited a very, very nice 1986 560SEL. Unfortuately, at some point a goober hosed the windshield trim where it joins at the top center and now the only way to keep in with the car is with some stylish duct tape.

I don't have any 126 body manuals and this trim/seal assembly appears to be quite different from the way the 123 windshields and trim are installed.

Anyone here have a W126 chassis manual? Can you possibly scan the windshield pages and e-mail them or talk me through how the windshield and trim go together?

Thanx

Randy,
You probably need a few "garnish molding" clips, they just slip over small studs in the window frame. Very easy to access when the window is out, can't recall how easy/difficult to access when just the trim is off. Part number 126 988 00 78.

Windshield glue

On the same note.

I was told by a glass company that 'RTV' would cause rust on body and should not be used to seal windshields....any truth to this or is i a $65 gammit at every installation?

Thanks for your input
