idle speed rpm/ 84 300D turbo automatic
can anyone tell me what to check when idle rpm goes from 700 cold to 900 or so hot ( 80 deg.C) been doing it for awhile . Thanks for any help. bubba

do you mean it idles around 700 when its started up and when you come in to part the car its idling around 1000?

idle rpm/ 84 300D turbo cold/hot
lub'd all the linkages and checked length against shop manual about 6-7 months ago. at the time it improved throttle pedal movement(easier) still had variation in cold/hot idle. thanks for assist.

Mine does same thing but mine surges when cold but once warm idles fine could this be the rack damper bolt?

idle rpm 84 300D turbo auto.
I don't know about rack dampner, I thoght that was for vibration ( provided e ng. mounts & shocks are good) the hot idle hangs at 900 or so when stopped at light, sign etc. that's after decel down from road speeds.
