Great perspective! Even the Egyptian sun god can understand that. Uh-oh, did I say that? Just funnin' ya, Ra.

When were these words invented anyway? And what committee got together and determined the severity of each word? Why is one word thought of as the "mother of all swear words," and another word now approved by the FCC to use in primetime broadcast?

When the wrench comes off the bolt causing the knuckles to make hard contact with the metal object in their path, there is a brief second between the thud and the onset of pain that allows us to determine which words to use. Isn't the meaning the same regardless of which words are chosen? And if nobody else is around in the garage, does it matter?

That's why I try to put out the very best info I can in my posts and try to keep them nice and clean. I don't want to offend those of you with vastly larger amounts of knowledge that could potentially save my day.

Questioning things and thinking for yourself are good.
Offending people for no reason is stupid, ignorant and offensive.
If you are here asking for help, do you really want to tick off the people who have answers???
This is NOT open discussion, you want to curse = go to open discussion and have a blast...

MODERATOR:
Please move this thread to open discussion.

Moderator , Please DON"T move it until most have seen it

I have not posted any curses in public forums that I know of ... seems kinda silly.. particularly if you are going to have to " disquise " it...
I curse a LOT in person.
Seth, that is good strategy...

When mechanicing... I am usually faced with an either or situation.. I can curse... or shoot the offending machine.... but with cast iron and steel involved one has to worry about Richochet...... and also... I hate to have actually trashed something which I will then have a lot more work fixing later....

I have neither cursed, nor started off topic threads in the wrong forum.

My comment that simply asked why some words become 'curses'
was called ' a load of hooey'.
I think I have a right to defend that.

If that means that you won't help me with my diesel, so be it.
I'm not a sheep who is going to kiss your ass, just because I need help.

Jumping on WHunter is not a good thing to do....he is probibly the forums single greatest asset. And his contributions are invaluble. And he's a really good fellow I should add too. Just being objective here...not pouncing on anyone so that is clear.

I think you're mistaking who jumped on whom?

I saw it more of a comment than jumping.....but I guess its all a matter of perspective....Roy isn't in the habit of jumping on people.

Its a car forum, I have no problem with implide cursing. Ask the mod of this forum to change the rules if you have a problem with it.

If not lets get back to the freaken show!:D

This is the Seinfeld thread, the thread about nothing. I'm sure you guys can find something more interesting to fight about. How about oil, or green antifreeze, or aluminum heads, or the price of diesel, or aftermarket air filters, or....? :D

Hatterasguy 12-01-2005 12:18 PM

We really havn't had a good oil thread in awhile!:D

Mobil 1 is far better in every aspect then Amsoil!
