How do i replace my F-250

I need a work truck, but I hate my ford. I'd like to go 100%mb diesel if I can. It seems as though mb trucks are expensive. Help me out. I am a real estate investor, and I do a lot of the work myself so I need hauling capabilities. What about the dodge or freightliner. Do they have a diesel mb motor, trans? What is, Dodge, about them, and what is, mb, about them. I am also looking to trade my wife's 1997 Acura 3.5RL in excellent cond. for a mb diesel. Thanks for your help.

Don't even think of replacing the Acura with a MB diesel. You'll regret it. Since you say its in excellent condition, keep it that way and it'll last you a long time.
I don't think the Sprinter would be up to the task like say a Cummins powered Dodge truck. That could do some serious hauling and would not be as expensive to service as the Sprinter.

Tell us what you plan to do with your replacement for the trunk and what the requirements are.

Yeah a dodge cummins is nice but they come with a seriously hefty price tag and are going to need as much maintence as the sprinter now that they have all the electronic stuff to play with...

Get a Mog. It's certainly better looking and more durable than anything Ford has to offer now.

I replaced my old "67" F 250 with a Dodge/Cummins. I get 22-23 MPG and its a nice ride, not as easy to work on as my 240s tho

Just look under the hood of the Accura and decide if you can work on it. I got rid of my Accura when I got my MB. The Accura was a nightmare to do anything on.

I dont need to pull anything with it. I just need room for lumber and sheet rock. Diesel mercedes motor is really what I am looking for. An older mb utility truck/van seems great, but Where do I find one?

Be careful of older MB trucks/utility vehicles as they were generally underpowered and if you plan on doing any highway driving it probably won't work out. They are a pretty sizeable investment of time and care.

THe sprinter vans would work for what you want. They come with a 5 cylinder CDI diesel engine in them. I've looked one over and although they recommend that they do the services (becuase it has a strict schedule to follow) it wouldn't be too hard to work on after that schedule is over.

Dodge makes them...yet they are basically MB.

They start at 30,000 dollars, maybe a used one would work. i'm still leaning towards an older mb. I don't mind the work associated with it. Plus i'd be the only one around here with one

Older decent condition utility vehicles usually carry a tag with them too.

If you are looking for a tinkering job, something to fix up, totally go for it

But it won't be too fast and might not work every day. Is the truck for work or home?

Sprinters are spendy but so are full sized diesel pickups

I'm not a Dodge fan but there's nothing out there currently that can beat the Cummins engine for durability. Now the package it comes in is a different story but I would imagine it is as good as a MB these days.
Stay away from the Dura-crax and Power-chokes.
