Glow plug timer relay location

On a 1979 300D where is the glow plug timer relay located? My understanding was that is is under the dash, but where?

part # 001 545 35 32

It should be on top of the driver side wheel well in the engine compartment. It's a rectangular black box with a cover.

I thought the newer style glow plugs had the timer on top of the wheel well, and the older style had it under the dash.

1979 240D has it in black box on fender well, like the Diesel Addict said.

I looked and it is the old style glow plugs with out the controller on the inner fender. I checked the book and it said the relay was on the pedal assembly behind the instrument cluster. I still can not find it based on the number I have.

I think it ought to look like this...http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=114511

Hmmm...Since I have already uploaded this back in Feb. it won't let me do so again...so you'll have to follow the link. Look at the pic at the bottom of the thread. From what I remember it was really really close to the brake pedal bracket.
