fact. glow plug controler

Is there a way to over ride the fact. glow plug controler? What I'm thinking is this.
Install a push button and be able to cycle the glow plugs after the engine has been started.
It's 7 degrees far The engine runs smooth for the first ten sec. after 30 seconds of glowplug from the key and then gets real shaky cause the glow plugs must be cooled off by the cold fuel. What do you think gus?

You could simply put a switch in line with the wire to the factory relay, and cycle it again after starting. Note that this will probably reduce your glow plug life, but it's an easy job on that car.

If you're not already using a block heater, that's probably a better option.

This may be a better option:

how long can the glow plugs be on with out ruining them? Also what wire will activate the glow plugs from the controler?

Do a search on the words "purple wire". Easy solution. You could easily install a winter/summer switch.
