300 D Grease Install Coolant Question

I have some how confused myself.

I know I need to Tee into my 1985 300D coolant system in two places: one at the line near the oil filter, and again somewhere over on the pass. side of the vehicle.

Several Questions:

1) Which way does the coolant run? I thought my hot supply is on pass. side, on line near circ pump, and I return off veg coolant loop into the line near the oil filter. That way the hot would hit the filter heat exchanger first, run back to the tank, then come forward and tap into the line near the oil filter. Correct??

2) What is that thing on the coolant line between the heater monovalve and the thermostat (right under air filter housing)? Circulation pump?

3) If that's the circ pump, can I tap into the coolant line on either side of it for hot supply? Or need I stay on the monovalve side? I'd like to splice into the line on the block side of the circ pump

THANKS

I just did a little more research. I think I may it reversed. If anyone want to confirm, that'd be great.

You did have it reversed, the hot water leaves the engine on the driver's side (near the oil filter) goes through the heater core, then the monovalve, then the auxiliary water pump, then back to the engine (near the thermostat). Note that the auxiliary pump only runs when the heat is on.
