300CD Dealer parts inquiry-still available!

Had to go to the dealer for those infamous spacing sleeves to set the rear bearings. Only $4.49 . Even the rear seal prices were good! All available within 2 days, just don't ask for the sealing ring or the nut. You might as well buy the rear kit online. Anyway as an FYI for you guys, I asked for the price & availability on the windshield trim pieces. Mine have been sandblasted from the po & the Penn. winters. The main (large) pieces were $55 apiece & the covers & joint up top were about $20 together-all available from the US except for one large piece coming from Germany. Not too bad I would say. Try to get parts like these for a 10 year old Ford & the price usually shocks you & followed by "sorry, it's no longer available". If you need to succome to the dealer, it's not always a death sentence, Paul. Central FL

Good to hear this , I assume these spacers are the same as W-123 sedans...

You might consider posting the correct part #'s off the labels once you have them in hand so folks can jot them down as many dealers just get a vacant look any time you want more than DeLuxe mats for this year's new model...

Thats why MB's are such great older cars to work on.

Go to your local GM dealer and ask for a little trim part for a car they havn't made in 15 years. You will get:
Sure but it costs $300
Or no we can't get it anymore try a junk yard.

Now go to MB:
Sorry sir we don't have it in stock but we will have it in 1-3 days. $60.

123 coupes aren't classics yet?
MBUSA upgraded 116s to classic status about three years ago, and prices were going up about 10% every three months. Haven't checked lately though. I quit caring when the climate control servo hit four digits.

Yeah , yeah ~ " classic " and rare too .

Once again it is noted that rare doesn't necessarily mean ' valuable '

You're saying the bill is...

Part # 1 - $55
Part # 2 - $55
Part # 3 - $55
(A, B, & C) - $20

For a total of $185.

Is this right?

part #'s

Okay, here's the official poop straight from a Tampa dealership.
Rear spacer sleeve part # 115 353 0142 $4.49
rear axle outer seal # 005 997 1646 $9.75
rear axle inner seal # 007 997 3547 $5.85
Like I said before-the axle nuts & sealing rings are expensive.($30each) If you destroyed them, just opt for a rear bearing kit.

123 Coupe windshield mouldings:
123 671 1630 coming from Germany $55.58
123 671 1730 " " USA "
123 671 1830 " " " "
123 671 1930 lower corners-2 required $8.39 each
123 671 0036 top center cover $6.63

So, we're talking about $190 for the mouldings plus tax if you pay retail & don't know anyone with an account. Paul central FL
