Phill got another supplier

Was over at HBL Mercedes in Tysons Corner (Vienna) VA picking up a needed Thermostat last night and ordering the K1 spring kit......(it really is a 3 piece kit) or individual parts and reading off the printout from this site the parts guy saw I was from the forum...he wouldn't give his username however.....he did say they just signed a contract with Phill at Fastlane for parts and was preparing an order to send out when I showed up.....its a small world...

Thumbs up Yep

He is always looking for better suppliers, and deals.
That makes him a good business man, and smart too.

Not the reason I like him; great guy, honest, incredible knowledge of Mercedes parts.

I agree Phill is a great guy.....I'd invite him over for a beer if he ever found himself in my neck of the woods.

You are correct. MB Tyson's Corner is a new supplier for Fastlane. We're excited about it and so are they.

Since the beginning we have always sourced about 20% of our parts from M-B dealers. Tyson's Corner wants to be our exclusive supplier for OEM "dealer-only" parts.

Worldpac or wherever our latest order came from did not pack it very well, as either they or UPS nearly destroyed the 5 liter can of brake fluid we ordered, I will take a pic soon, I have never seen a metal can get so bashed up and not leak! Its completely crushed on the bottom on one side, and the middle of the can itself looks like a car drove over it. The rest of the stuff was ok, but wasn't really damage-able anyways....just imagine what UPS would have done with 5 liters of brake fluid drooling from a big box....they'd have been running in circles....

Good that means I don't have to wait for dealer parts coming from CA anymore.

For $17 I might do it as preventative maint. I have to open the tranny up to replace the kickdown cable and a leaking hard fluid line anyway.

That is excellent news!

A poke in the eye with a sharp stick is better than dealing with the brain-dead folks here in Waterloo for OEM-only parts.

My soon to be ex-wife worked with HBL's parts manager's wife a few years ago. It really is a small world.

I buy my parts in Newington and they get some parts from MB, which dealer I don;t know. I also go to Alexandria MB for some parts. They're fairly close to my work location in Newington.
