I didn't leave it running. It is currently -4 below zero. In a hour or so I'm going to go outside and start it without starting fluid and without plugging in the block heater. (My 83 has an appointment today with the body shop for a complete respray.) I just glow the thing for 30 to 45 seconds and let her buck. I do the same thing with the Olds 5.7 diesels. I don't plug the heaters in until the temps drop to -10 to -15 below zero.

Only 7 here this morning and a 15 second glow had her firing with only a few short cranks like the middle of summer. 222k miles and I'm thinking good compression.

Let mine set in the garage

If it is going to get good and cold out tonight, (was 4 above this AM) I might leave mine out tonight just to see if it is as good as I think it is for starting. But it is leaking too much oil from the turbo return line gromet and I just decided not to run it until that is repaired.

Minus 9 this morning. 45 second glow, (new glow plugs last week), didn't plug it in. Started like a gasser, smooth as can be.

Just plug them in. I don't want to mess with it, when the temps get below 30 the block heater is put to good use.

last time i tried to start it (was 40* warmer BTW) I fried a batt cable (cheapest american 4GA i could get )
Something to be said about cheap people spending the most...

Anyways I HOPE to finish the damned 1GA cable up soon, just got kinda backburnered...

SO, what needs to be added to a tank full of summer fuel for it to start in the winter? Also what the heck should I do to the rest of the car?
srry for the hijack
