1977 300D Speedometer Cable Removal at Tranny end

I checked the archives with min results. I am trying to remove the speedo cable at the tranny off take or gear house. Loosened 10mm clamp bolt. Cable will not pull out. I do not want to pull on it real hard. Last time I did this the cable end just came out. Exiting cable end spins around 180 degrees or so but will just not pull out readily

Is there a chance it is seased? There is another 10mm bolt holding the housing to the tranny.

Please advise as to how to remove without damaging the housing the cable is slid into.

There should be two bolts, the one you removed is for the cable, and the housing has another 10 mm bolt holding it to the tail.

Do I need to remove or loosen the other 10MM to remove the speedo cable. the one holding the "gear housing" to the tranny proper?

Regards, Tom
