It's all you guys' fault

Thanks to you all for being so helpful on my last 300D, I bought another one. This one is an 85, with some issues.

Several vacuum lines are disconnected, which may be a good thing. I thought that I may need a vac pump, since the car will not shut off with the key, but it may just be that I need the vac lines functioning. Also, the trans is kind of flaky, with harsh up and down shifts, but I'll attribute that to vac issues also.
I thought that all of my electrics were messed up, but if I play with the key, ie turn it further to starting position without actually trying to start it again, I get my electrics working. So,,, I don't know about this one, but haven't researched it yet either, so don't tell me to search, cuz I will as soon as I get the chance. Anyway, here's a couple of pics, and the two together.

Except I have tinted windows and a wood stearing wheel.
Are those the Euro headlights everyone talks about?

Nope, just the standard lights. Paid a total of $750 for her. I'm thinking it won't take too much to get her in good enough shape to sell. I was looking at the body, and though it has had a repaint, I can't find any rust anywhere. Butterball has a little rust on the rear wheelwell, and where the trunk weatherstripping is. The new one is totally clean.

I have to admit, I bought Butterball to flip, but grew so attached to it, I couldn't bear to sell it. With this one being so clean, it's starting to grow on me too..
Not good for my future..

I see, blame it on us?

From that "collection list" , I somehow think you had an addiction long before you started hanging out here.

Yep, I blame it on the forum as well. Now I've somehow got a third diesel and a second SDL to care and feed.

That car looks like a great score for $750. Definitely.

Got it at one of the auctions here in Norfolk. I was at an equipment auction next door, so I walked over to investigate. I gave it the quick look, and asked if it had sold, to which they said no, so the next obvious question for me was "how much do they want for it"? They said $500, and I said sold. Then I listened to it run and all. They have a 73 350 SEL, but the int is ragged, and they want way too much for it.
I started my collection a while ago, it's true,, but this diesel thing has me drawn in, and I can't escape..
