82 240 automatic in 88 300te?

so my son's 300te tranny is acting up. i have this 240d automatic tranny which is thought to be fine. will it bolt up and work? i understand that the shift points would be set up for the diesel. will it work?

The 300te engine puts out waay more power than a 240, I bet it'd destroy it in no time. Plus it probably would not bolt up properly either....

nope

Sorry but that transmission won't bolt up to the "new" inline 6 gasers, but since you started this thread, what is the transmission doing in the 300TE? maybe one of us can help you with that.
