More W210 problems: injector pipe leaks
 

So I put the injectors back after checking them, but I just couldn't get #4 and #6 injector pipes to stop leaking at the injectors. I loosened, wiggled and retightened them many times and I was almost able to make them stop leaking, but they still seep, especially #4! What's with these damn things? I never had this problem on any of my previous diesels or the 240D. The pipes, including the tips have no visible damage. Should I just order new pipes from MB or is there a trick that I'm missing?:confused:

What torque are you tightening them to?

I just ordered new pipes so hopefully this will fix the problem. I first tightened the lines to a fairly light torque (I don't have a number) as I've done countless times before and #4 and #6 were like fountains while all the others were fine. So I tightened them harder and it helped but I was never able to stop them from seeping. I didn't want to put my whole bodyweight behind it because it would certainly break something and they're not supposed to be that tight.

Yep that happens, are the plastic clips in place? If not fix them or you will break more injector lines.

Actually I replaced the plastic clips while I was doing this job. They were a ***** to put on. Now the whole intake will have to come off to replace those two injector pipes.:( On the 240D they could be replaced in a couple minutes.
