Talking less oil cap dance with stolen egr

my egr was stolen and some fool stuck a stainless steel plate in the place it used to go so i was wanting to see how much my oil cap danced now that the egr was stolen .. before it used to dance like a squirrel on crack... now it just sits there and doesnt move lil vibrations from the engine move it but other than that it sits there... is that good for a very basic blow by test id like to get a compression test but im afraid it will be horrible.. i will do a valve job as soon as i get the wrenches from diesel giant along with a diesel purge also .. i also noted my car reved up faster than before and the exhaust was a tad bit smokier and smelled worse.. ^_^ that person better bring my egr back

Unhappy OK, I admit it............

I stole the EGR valve.

I needed one for the SD because some POS stole mine.

Sorry, I'm not giving it back.

do you think the missing egr is what is making my oil cap dance less.. it danced alot more before the egr was "stolen"

I can't come up with a viable explanation for that. There is no possiblity of the EGR valve affecting blowby. If the valve was leaking at idle, the engine might have run a bit more rough at idle. Could this be considered more "dancing" of the cap??

Thumbs up

Many parts become stolen off my cars too at night, it's quite odd indeed.

probably i have noticed a smoother idle and it revs up faster.. if you have seen the pic of my engine bay now you can see on the intake manifold their was like a black soot streak from what looks like a vent on the egr..

I hate when things like that happen. The other night some fascist opened my hood and put a bb in the vacuum line going to the egr. The nerve!

Don't worry guys you can still replace them!

Maybe if you act quick you can foil the egr bandits! Start locking your hoods at night, yes that is the only solution.

Or have squirrel's on crack guard them!

rodents ate the vacuum lines...that were on mine too. Strangely only the ones that routed to the stolen EGR intake and exhaust setup.....they left the others alone.
