Armor-All Effect On Trim

This seller has "wrinkles" on the window header trim on all 4 windows and blame it on Armor All. I know that the dash on my car is cracked badly, and the last owner told me that he religiously applied Armor All on it . Do you care to share your experience?

Ya I've heard the same. Armour-all can cause cracks in upholstry. Not sure why.

Might make the surface oily enought that in the heat it cooks the vinyl a little.

I do not use armour all at all...

instead some vinyl cleaner or just a wet rag.

I don't know if Armor All is the sole cause for the wrinkled W123 window frame trims. I think it's due to a bad design - 99% of the 123's I see have deformed or shrunken window frame trim.

For cleaning vinyl, Meguiars makes a great cleaner. Follow up with 303 Aerospace protection for a glare-free finish and good UV protection.

With the wagon's trim all wrinkled, we just removed them. All of them. And the trim that surrounds the door sill is covered with a beige cloth, some are already ripped off. Same thing, we just removed them and retained the black rubber seal.

At least it makes it look all uniform... I don't think my grandma/pa used Armor All with the sedan but the wagon, I doubt of the PO used it. The sedan's trim is perfectly preserved. On closer inspection I see glue? Maybe that helps...

I've only seen one W123 without wrinkled window frame trims and that was a broken 83 240D from San Diego, I bought cheap. it musta been kept inside all its life.

I dont use Amour all, I like 303

just say NO to Armorall

Well I believe when armorall is used it looks good, but when it evaporates it takes out all the moisture that is in the fabric, or plastic and it dries it out and the end result is you have a cracked dashboard and vinyl seats or whatever it comes in contact with. I believe armorall should only be used to clean tires and nothing else. I clean my leather seats with Meguiars Gold Class Rich Leather cleaner/conditioner, and I clean my dash board with Meguiars Vinyl and Rubber protectant I use this stuff every 2to3 weeks and it seems to do a good job in the hot Texas sun.
But I am always open to new Ideas.

I believe it's the alcohol in Armor all that causes cracks and wrinkles.

Cool 303 or nothing

Don't shop at K Mart and don't use Armour All.
