Great W123 300D Road Test Video From 1976

Check this out, it's in German so some may understand it, some might not, no matter what you speak, it is a great video.

They flogged the heck out of that thing!

Quite an amazing video. I had one of those "WOW!" moments when I saw the 300D coming out of that high speed corner! It just goes to show why the W123 line lasted for 9 years!

...The disco music at the end is a nice touch...

Warning for dial-up its 26Mb. At least that host allows you to download it instead of just watch it streaming. I already have it burned to a disk.

1976 300D promo film

Wow, what a great promo film; and, important source document.

I do not understand German but really enjoyed that clip.

I think it's Barry White. That music fits well for such a well loved MB.

The main thing I don't like about the W123 in the video is the body roll in the swerve tests. It's amazing that he could push it so far without breaking loose.

It also would have been nice to see how the Turbo'd SD compares to the NA 300D.

Wow, if my calculations are correct, they got about 18MPG with it. That's pretty bad.

Someone else's 123?

I'd rip that course up with my 300SD...if it coudn't take it without failing I wouldn't want the car.

The part when the car is driving the circle track as fast as it can reminds me of myself about 2 month ago. The only difference is you have to imagine my girlfriend driving, and me chasing the car around desperately trying to keep up in the inside part of the circle trying to hear a ticking noise, my girlfriend giggling at the situation, and me getting frustrated at teh situation. It's pretty funny now. I sure it was funny to watch too.
