OM617 engine compartment diagram

Anyone know where to get a good one that shows the major components for a diesel newbie?

Thanks,
Dunl

I have an 83. If its the same what are you looking for, I could scan the owners manual page showing the engine if it helps.
Let me know

Is yours the exact engine, or slightly different? If it's the same, scan away. If not, I'd like to find one for my 617 if possible.

Firth thing I'm wondering though is that I found an unhooked electrical connection in the lower engine. There's a round cylinder at the lower front dirver's side of the engine it hooks into. I plugged it in, but doesn't seem to make a difference. Wondering what it does.

Thanks,
Dunl

Questions like that are answered much more accurately and quickly if you can supply a pic. Otherwise, just a whole bunch of guessing.....

Yeah, that's pretty damm vague, isn't it? Digital cam isn't working, sorry.

It's below the vacuum pump, and a little to the driver's side....like I said, hooks into a cannister thing that is positioned on it's side, not upright.

Damm....everything looks different from a gasser.
