If I remember right you can take the Bowden cable loose and then take the bolts that secure all the linkages to the valve cover off and then just flop them over on top of the IP. Seems like the ones on the side were allen head and the ones on top might have been 13mm (been a while since I took this stuff loose). You might have to take one of the lingages loose but it's just a c-clip holding it I think.

Use a wire, and jump/bump the starter wire junction block right inner fender well.

You can also make the belt tighter by pushing on it or grabbing both sides and squeezing them toward each other. Lots of people don't think using the power steering bolt is a good idea but that's what I've always used. The best is supposed to be the crank pulley bolt but I can't get a socket on mine because of the shape of the pulley and distance between it and the radiator.

Or you can do as whunter suggested, that's probably the easiest.

I recently used the power steering pulley when I readjusted the valves after 1000 miles on the new head. The pulley would slip if you turned the engine fast enough to feel the compression. However, if you turned it very slowly, the compression would leak down (you can hear it) and the belt would not slip.

I was sure as hell not going underneath a minimum of 10 times for the 10 valves. Probably would have done it 30 times because I can't see the cam lobe when I'm underneath it.
